The section details the different membership categories of the Network (ISG aligned, Full, Associate, and Affiliate) with their specific eligibility criteria.

INQAAHE offers four categories of membership:

GGP/ISG ALIGNED MEMBERS

Are organizations responsible for assuring the quality of tertiary education provisions – institutions and programs, such as accreditation, audit or other bodies responsible for the external evaluation of institutions and/or programs, which have successfully undergone the INQAAHE GGP/ISG Alignment procedure and whose alignment is current.

FULL MEMBERS

Are organizations in operation for more than two years responsible for assuring the quality of tertiary education provisions – institutions and programs, such as accreditation, audit or other bodies responsible for the external evaluation of institutions and/or programs.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

Are tertiary education providers, external quality assurance providers in operation for less than two years and interested parties with a major interest and commitment in evaluation, accreditation and quality assurance in tertiary education.

AFFILIATE MEMBERS

Are individuals (scholars, researchers, academics, employers, professional staff) with a major commitment and interest in evaluation, accreditation and quality assurance in tertiary education and a proven track record of involvement in tertiary education quality assurance.

Criteria for each membership category

The criteria for each of the membership categories are described below:

It is the responsibility of the applicant organization to provide the required evidence to inform INQAAHE’s membership decision. INQAAHE reserves the right to refuse applications for membership lacking required evidence.

The applicant organization should have their information published on their website in English or ensure the valid translation in English.

 

Criteria for GGP/ISG Aligned members

  1. The applicant organization must be already a full member of INQAAHE.
  2. The organization must have an organization’s profile that can include an overview of their operations and processes.
  3. The organization must be aligned with the GGP/ISGas per the INQAAHE GGP/ISG Alignment procedure (full review, joint review, mutual recognition).
  4. The GGP/ISG alignment membership of the organization should be renewed according to the INQAAHE’s guidelines within the validity of the approved time period.
  5. The organization GGP/ISG report must be published on their official website. The organization website needs to be updated and accessible in the English language.

 

Criteria for Full Membership

  1. The applicant organization should have a publicly available organization’s profile that describes their mandate, operations and processes.
  2. The applicant organization should demonstrate credibility through the legal documentation that supports its operations.
  3. The applicant should demonstrate experience in conducting external reviews of institutions or programs for at least the last two years.
  4. The applicant organization should demonstrate sufficient and relevant resources (finances, staff, reviewers, premises etc.) that support its operations according to its mandate.

 

Criteria for Associate Membership

  1. The applicant organization should demonstrate a commitment in QA.
  2. The applicant organization should demonstrate it is either
    1. a Tertiary Education Provider (TEP);
    2. an External Quality Assurance Provider (EQAP) that has been in operation for less than 2 years;
    3. another interested party committed to QA.

 

Criteria for Affiliate Membership

  1. The applicant is an individual who should demonstrate a commitment in QA.
