INQAAHE Representation at REALCUP’s Annual Assembly

ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF THE LATIN AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN NETWORK OF UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATIONS (REALCUP)

From October 1 to October 3, 2024, the Annual Assembly of REALCUP was held in the city of Puebla, Mexico—a UNESCO World Heritage site. The event focused on the theme “Inclusive Quality and Dynamic Relevance in Private Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean.” This significant gathering attracted over 300 university rectors, representatives from more than 20 edtech organizations, and key figures from national and international quality assurance agencies.

In 2023, REALCUP and INQAAHE formalized their collaboration by signing a MoU thereby initiating a series of cooperative initiatives. In this context, two members of the INQAAHE Board, Dr. Susanna Karakhanyan and Dr. Ariana De Vincenzi, actively participated in the annual REALCUP Assembly, contributing to pivotal discussions on higher education quality assurance in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

Dr. Susanna Karakhanyan delivered a keynote address focusing on the efficiency, relevance, and transformative potential of quality assurance, highlighting the imperative to align policies, processes, and procedures with strategically defined goals to meet the evolving demands of higher education. Concurrently, Dr. Ariana De Vincenzi facilitated an engaging panel discussion on internal quality assurance within universities, which stimulated a vibrant dialogue among government officials, university leaders, and industry experts.

The event highlighted the participation of renowned international experts, including Francesc Pedro, Jamil Salmi, and Paul Le Blanc. For more details on the event, visit REALCUP Puebla 2024.
