The 2025 CHEA/CIQG Annual Conference will take place on January 27-30 at The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center.
The main theme of the event will be Quality Assurance in an Era of Change – Reflect, Reimagine, Recommit.
Dr. Olgun Çiçek, INQAAHE Board Director, has been invited to participate as a speaker on January 29, 2025 at 1:00 PM-2:00 PMET. He will deliver a session on Beyond rankings: the value of QA & Accreditation for the internationalisation of HEIs.The session will highlight the importance of QA and Accreditation vs. Rankings in the internationalization process of HEIs. Although rankings are popular and forefront as a visibility and status tool, it is time to discuss how to align this with QA and Accreditation standards to achieve sustainable development of HEIs. The main areas of focus will center on why rankings are so popular, although they are voluntary vs. why accreditation is less visible or a priority, although most cases are compulsory at the local level. Also, the fast-moving trend for internationalization, transnational education (TNE), and partnerships will be highlighted from the QA & Accreditation perspectives.
